Yeovilton and Boscombe Down: The weather promised much and, with a four-month jolly away on the horizon, we decided to take one last look at the soon-to-be-retired Navy Sea Harriers at Yeovilton. Unfortunately, there was just the one trip booked - by a two-seat T8! The light on the black Shar and Hawks gave some fantastic reflections as the aircraft taxied for departure. The Lynxes and Sea Kings were a bit too distant as they returned home. A quick visit to Boscombe produced a couple of approaches by the based Piper Navajo, ZF622.
Middle Wallop: With the sun slowly going down on a chilly winter day, the prospect of a few Army Air Corps helicopters in the sunset took us to Middle Wallop. As with Yeovilton's Sea Kings, the new Apaches stayed well clear of the public viewing area which forced us into finding somewhere on the far side of the airfield to try and get some better pictures. We made it in time for the final couple of arrivals just as the sun gave up for the day. This page marks the debut (and hopefully only) appearance of the mighty Slingsby Firefly.
